I can’t believe I forgot to give a teddiursa to Rachel Bear-y

Which pokemon would Quinn have as a part of her Team? What about Rachel? Why?

Before I start, I think it should be noted that I’m most comfortable with gens I-III, so anything from a later generation isn’t something I’m really comfortable with. Maybe Rachel and Quinn live in Johto and get those Hoenn swarms like what happened in Heartgold/Soulsilver.

Kind of long, so it’s under a cut.

Quinn:

Cyndaquil (and eventually Typhlosion) - The idea of “cyndaquinn” is too permanently ingrained in my mind for me to let this one go. Regardless, I think fire starters would appeal to Quinn. They’re the most practical and grow to be incredibly powerful, and there aren’t many fire options in the wild, so securing a strong one early on would give her an upper hand. Why Cyndaquil specifically? It’s flippin’ adorable, that’s why.
Umbreon - It’s cute yet heavy-duty and fast as fuck. A good option for Quinn, I think, especially as a dark-type and something that needs to be evolved with friendship (which I think would not come as naturally to her as friendship evolution comes to Rachel).
Amphoros - An electric type, mainly for balance.
Scyther - Fast and good offensively.
Pidgeot - Every good trainer needs a good flying type. Pidgeot is really the only bird pokemon that has three evolutions, which shows more growth. It’s also pretty fast. I think Quinn values speed and power a lot.
Kingdra - It’s elegant and refined. It also fucks your shit up. It’s Quinn in a nutshell.

Rachel:

Jigglypuff - Maybe it’s cliche, but I think Rachel would enjoy the idea of a singing pokemon. Jigglypuff is pink and cuddly, but it also packs a powerful punch. Just like Rachel herself, Jigglypuff is small and cute, but there is more to it than meets the eye.
Crobat - Rachel compulsively catches every pokemon she sees, and she trains them all a bit to see how they are in battle but also to care for them (while she thrives on victory, she also values caring for her Pokemon). This would mean that once she caught a Zubat, she would develop a bond with it, causing it to eventually evolve out of friendship into the powerful Crobat.
Growlithe - Cute yet powerful, especially as it grows. Also, the token fire type. You have no idea how hard it was to not put Ponyta because “save the horses”, but this is Rachel, not Lea.
Venusaur - Rachel would pick Bulbasaur as her starter because no one ever picks Bulbasaur and she didn’t want it to be excluded. As such, she would pay special attention to it, and it would grow to be possibly her best friend on her journey.
Vaporeon - An elegant water-type. It’s also useful because it can learn ice moves, giving it a two-in-one edge.
Mankey - Just to spite Quinn and her beloved Umbreon, mainly, since fighting trumps dark type. It also balances the team a bit more.

Overall, I think Quinn would base her team more on speed/power and use a calculated strategy, while Rachel would tend to use her favorites more than what was strongest. However, they’d both still value winning and being the best like no one ever was. They’d probably be rivals that ended up traveling together.

Sorry this is from a few days ago! It just seems cluttery, mainly. It also ends up being unnecessary when a blogger feels obligated to comment on everything they reblog and strain themselves to do so. That results in a blog being full of things reblogged with “Hahaha!” in the comments, which often adds nothing to the original post.

Also, you have to keep in mind that the original person who made the post gets a notification every time someone new reblogs the post with a comment. That stuff can range from anything to offensive, creepy, or superfluous. Personally, I prefer to put my comments in the tags so that my thoughts can be read by my followers if they wish, but they don’t have to be read by people that don’t want to see them if they don’t want to.

No, you’re right. It’s hypocritical of me. Granted, I view it in a different light than the comic (though I do not want to get into this again - I prefer not getting hate mail and being called names behind my back), but it still portrays a violent act in a positive light, and that’s not okay. The part of that scene that redeems the violent act is when Quinn apologizes for slapping Rachel and acknowledges that it was wrong. If I crop out that moment, I’m no better than what I was trying to stand up for a month ago.

I think your glee crack thing for faberry is a great idea, and it could really liven up this fandom. However, do you think it is in poor taste, especially after you calling out tantoun for her drawing which turns violence into...poor comedy?
